John Gresham is antagonist of the play. He is the boss of Robert Baldwin in a bank. However he is accused of fraud and is supposed to face the trial. He offers bribe to Robert Baldwin to say,
“I don’t remember” before the judge. However Baldwin refuses. This shows that John Gresham is a fraud and he has earned his fortune by fraud and cheat.
