Gresham is the boss of Mr Robert Baldwin in the play. Unlike Mr Baldwin, Gresham is a fraud. He is accused of theft and is about to face trial. He offers bribe to Baldwin to help him escape the trail by saying, “I don’t remember”. However the later rejects. In the end, Gresham confesses his crime and is arrested.
