The central idea of the poem The Snake Trying is that we should not kill other living organisms because of fear or wrath. Like us, other living organisms also have right to live on earth. Though we consider ourselves, the victims of dangerous animals (like snake, the poem), but in reality, the animals themselves become the victim of our fear.
