The tone of the poem On Killing A Tree is sarcastic. Here, the poet explains the process of killing a tree properly. However he does not mean that. Instead he exposes humans’ cruelty towards the nature. We cut them, destroy them and use them for satisfying our greed. This cutting of trees is no less than a murder.
