Baldwin did not accept bribe in spite of being persuaded by his family members as he was honest and a man of principals. Hence he is not disloyal to Gresham. He remained a good friend to Gresham for decades but when Gresham’s fraud get caught, Baldwin preferred principals and honesty over bribe and friendship.
