    The central character of the play The Hour of Truth is Robert Baldwin. He is working in the bank of John Gresham. He lives with his wife Martha, son John and daughter Evie. When Gresham does some fraud, he is arrested. In order to escape the punishment, he tries to bribe Baldwin who clearly refuses the offer as he is honest.

    When his family comes to know about the bribe, they start corrupting the mind of Baldwin and persuade him to take bribe. Till end, Baldwin sticks to his decision but is shocked with the behaviour of his family members.

    The theme of the novel is greed and its impact on the individuals. To depict the power and greed of money,Wilde has set up a play, where he explores the corrupt mentality of people through different characters in a family realistically.

    “The hour of truth” in the play is highlighted and justified at the hour when the family members accepts the offer of bribe and brings out the reality of their morality and sincerity.

    Mr Baldwin is considered as an honest man, but it was only then, that he realises that even a noble man can become a liar and his uprightness can be compromised leaving behind all his ethical principles.

The strong sense that Lear is a good man, and that Edgar’s actions are motivated solely by greed and desire for power suggests that Lear’s “loyalty” to Edgar should be viewed as different from his “disloyalty” to Gloucester. However, Shakespeare makes it clear that both Gloucester and Lear feel betrayed by Edgar, and that Gloucester’s sense of betrayal is more challenged by his moral sense of duty than Lear’s. Edgar’s primary concern is with personal greed and political power, while Gloucester has a strong sense of duty and responsibility, in which loyalty is inextricably linked. Furthermore, Lear’s relationship with Cordelia is so intertwined with his sense of self-worth that it seems plausible that his “loyalty” to her is a necessary condition for him to be able to survive.

    The play As You Like It is a comedy in which romance is also a leading theme. In the play  — and in Shakespeare’s plays generally — love is a subject which is treated with great seriousness, and love is seen to be very powerful.

    Rosalind is a young woman who has been raised by her father, Duke Frederick, in his country estate. Her father has recently died and she is about to be married to her cousin Oliver.

    Rosalind falls in love with Orlando, a young man of noble birth who has no money and no property. They fall in love because they have nothing in common and are totally opposed in every way. But they fall in love nonetheless, and the play follows their journey through the forest as they try to come together and find their way out of the forest, the place of all evil.  The whole point of the play is that love is stronger than all other things.

    This play is a Romantic Comedy. In this play, love is not treated as a joke or a joke subject. Love is not something which is taken lightly. It is treated with great seriousness, and is seen to be very powerful.

    Another theme is the love between a husband and a wife. Rani is very attached to Nagamandala. He is the only one who is able to understand her feelings. He is very attached to her and his love for her never dies. But Rani’s love for him is different from Nagamandala’s love for him.

    The way Nagamandala loves Rani is by being the only one who can understand her feelings. Nagamandala does not love Rani because of any physical beauty or charm of hers. In the beginning of the film, Rani was a very beautiful girl.

    As time passes by, her beauty starts fading away. But Rani does not accept it. She says that she has always been beautiful and will always be beautiful. Her beauty is not due to any external factors. It is her inner beauty that is reflected on her face.
