The “talent”, the poem On His Blindness means the art of writing poetry. According to the poet, this talent is gifted by God to him for serving humanity. The concept of talent here relates to Bible in which it has been mentioned that the one who does not use his talent to serve humanity on earth will be punished in his afterlife. However, he soon realises that he is bearing pain (because of his blindness) and those who bear their pain also serve God.
