The daffodils had a deep and profound effect on the poet. He felt quite happy and jovial in their company. He could not stop seeing them. Hence he kept gazing them for a long time.
According to the poet, while sitting in his couch, he often feels down and sad. However the memory of daffodils flash in his mind and his mood is suddenly changed. He stars feeling as if he is dancing in the valley with those daffodils.
