What is the central idea/theme of the poem March?

1 Answer

  1. The poem’s core idea is to appreciate the arrival of spring. Wordsworth was a perfect example of a ‘worshipper of nature,’ as seen by the poem ‘March,’ in which he brilliantly admired the surroundings and its beauty. The poem was composed during the war, when people faced tremendous changes. The happy days came as the war ended. Wordsworth attempted to portray war and its sufferings during winter in this poem, and regarded springtime as the arrival of bright days.
