The central idea of the poem Animals is that humans need to learn good habits and qualities from animals which they had once but lost with the passage of time.
According to the poet, animals have many good qualities like ascetic nature, impartial behaviour towards each other, and peace. They do not commit sins. On the other hand, humans are greedy which takes away their peace as well as sleep. They commit sins and then weep in the night.
