  1. The central idea of the poem Animals is that humans need to learn good habits and qualities from animals which they had once but lost with the passage of time.

    According to the poet, animals have many good qualities like ascetic nature, impartial behaviour towards each other, and peace. They do not commit sins. On the other hand, humans are greedy which takes away their peace as well as sleep. They commit sins and then weep in the night.

  2. This poem is composed by Walt Whitman , he always favour the animal species. Through his poem , the poet highlights the positive qualities of the animals and expresses his desire to live with them , because the are serene and self contend. They do not unhappy over their condition. They do not weep for their scenes or discuss about their duty towards God. They are satisfied and are not affected by the feelings of sorrow and happiness. They do not have any kind of falsehood. In short, we can say that they possess the quality of love, affection, kindness and sympathy.
