Alliteration– It is the occurrence of the same sound at the beginning of closely connected words. Examples- “short and scant”, “Standing in state”, “who was wounded”
Onomatopoeia– It is the use of sounds for literary effect. Examples- “Trumpeting loudly”, “cry and pant”
Imagery – Imagery refers to the elements of a poem that engage a reader’s senses. Examples- “Out on the plain where the waters go, / Out on the banks of the Jhelum wide”, “his mighty trunk”
