The poet uses various images in the poem Snowdrop to show the harsh behaviour of the nature. e.g. “globe shrunk tight”, “mouse’s dulled wintering heart”, “Weasel and crow moulded in brass”, “an outer darkness”, “Brutal as the stars of this month”, “pale head heavy as metal”. All these images show the cruel side of nature which has made everything lifeless.
