In the poem, it is the season of autumn and the laburnum tree is silent and still. Its leaves have turned yellow. Suddenly a goldfinch appears to feed its chicks and chirping of birds begin. There is thrill, noise, hustle and bustle.
Laburnum tree is home for goldfinch and its young ones. On the other hand, the birds are the reason for happiness of the tree. All this happens on the top of laburnum tree. Hence the title of this poem is suitable and justified.
