Imagery means describing the things visually and symbolically e.g. the flower of rose symbolises beauty, red and pink colours are associated with women etc. In the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud, the poet makes extensive use of imagery.
In the beginning, he considers himself as a cloud wandering here and there on the hills (i.e. in the nature). Next, he calls a crowd of daffodils. Crowd is usually used for humans. So, the poet is giving human character to the daffodils.
Next, he compares them to the twinkling stars in the sky. Stars are countless and spread across the sky. According to the poet, like the stars, the daffodils were also spread across the bank of lake.
He calls their movement due to air as their dancing. For him, the daffodils are dancing in joy like the humans. The whole poem is quite symbolic. It depicts how the poet felt while being in them.
