The dream and the reality are definitely contrary and different. When the reality becomes harsh, cruel and unbearable, the person escapes to the world of dreams because there is no restriction or trap. We do whatever we want to do.
In the poem Aunt Jennifer carves fearless and bold tigers to escape from the harsh and unbearable married life. She herself is coward, frightened and trapped. However her art i.e. tigers are bold and fearless. They are free and have no fears from men.
Thus reality (Aunt Jennifer’s failed marriage) and dream (free and bold tigers) are quite contrasting.
