Rising from the rank of a general in Scottish army, Macbeth is driven by a desire to become the king of Scotland. He believes the prophecy given by the witches in his rise to the crown but it comes a price of blood, betrayal and murder. Starting with the murder of his benefactor King Duncan, he goes on a spree to assume and hold on to his kingship. He kills his compatriot Blanquo but his son Malcolm escapes to spell his eventual death.
In his greedy and immoral pursuit of absolute power, Macbeth loses his wife and a chance to build a legacy in his name.
