Princess September, the youngest daughter of a king befriends a nightingale after her parrot dies. She loves the nightingale because it sings her sweet songs about many things like King’s Garden, the goldfish, the willow tree etc. Soon she keeps her window open for the nightingale and the latter comes with a new story and a new song for her.
One day, when the nightingale comes late than usual, she fears to lose her and hence encages her. But the latter protests because it cannot sing in the cage. The princess, being wise, understand that and frees the nightingale.
The nightingale keeps telling the princess about everything that she sees and hence, Princess September grows into a beautiful lady while the other princesses remain dull in their looks.
