Amanda imagines herself as an orphan because she is tired of daily taunts of her parents. She is subjected to insult, shouting and harsh behaviour of her parents which is cannot bear. In order to escape the reality she imagines herself as an orphan.
She imagines roaming around the city with no restrictions and enjoying freedom and peace like the orphans.
