I love the poem The Gift of India as it is a patriotic poem written in the memory of those who fought during the first world war. In this poem, we find a mixture of sorrow, pride, hope and prayers. Mother India is proud of her brave sons but at the same time sorrowful because of their loss. She is also hopeful and prays for the safe return of those who are still alive.
