The tone of Macavity the Mystery Cat is mysterious and humorous. There is fun and at the same time mysterious things happening. e.g. Macavity commits crime yet no one is able to catch him because Macavity’s not there. The names of Macavity’s alibi are also funny: Mungojerrie and Griddlebone.
Macavity commits all types of crimes but mysteriously goes away. Police fails to catch him.
