The poem starts with the announcement of the final race in the competition. All the nine athletes are geared up for the race. As the race starts, the youngest athlete staggers and falls down. The other remaining athletes, instead of running to win, they stopped and helped the youngest athlete. The nine athletes all together won the race as compassion and consideration towards one another is more important than winning the race alone.
