The message of the poem is that it shows that winning alone is not always important in life, compassion and care for others can save humanity and brotherhood is better for the mankind. The poem, “Nine Gold Medals”, show that life is not all about winning a race. Care and compassion for one another is more important. The athletes running in the competition shows compassion for the fallen runner, forgoing their chance to win the race alone. The feeling of brotherhood is developed in the poem which proves beneficial for the mankind.
