  1. The poem depicts when the characters of the play Tempest were caught in a storm while sailing. So, they gathered in a cabin. Though it was midnight no one was able to sleep because of the storm. The hungry sea roared and they sat in the darkness and prayed. The captain announces that they were lost and even he gave up hope.
