They set rules for do’s and dont’s and they keep preaching these rules to the young ones every time which irritates the children. In the poem, the child narrates a similar story in which he is instructed every time. Hence he expresses his irritation.

    The theme of this poem is that grown-ups should not interfere too much in the life of children. It can have a negative impact on their psychology. Because of this they started hating the elders.
