    1. Alliteration: A couple of examples would be “So your chimneys I sweep & in soot I sleep” and “soot cannot spoil”.
    2. Simile: One such example would be the description of Tom Dacre’s head to be “curled like a lamb’s back”.
    3. Metaphor: The word “bags” can be taken as a metaphor for the burdens of the the children that they are forced to carry.
