FIRE AND ICE, composed by Robert Frost is a short but beautiful philosophical poem. The poet warns us to be away from negative emotions. There must not be the lust for worldly possessions. We must not have hatred for anyone. These emotions are enough to destroy the world. In the poem, Fire is termed as desire and ice as hatred.
In the poem Fire and ice the world will destroy one day because of greed and hate which have developed among human beings. They make a person inhuman and selfish. He becomes so obsessed with these things that he forgets human relations and emotions. Thus the poet is of the view that greed and hate will destroy the world one day.
