There are a few ways to tell someone to be quiet. A polite way to tell someone to be quiet is to simply say, “Could you please be quiet?” You could also ask your friend to be quiet by saying, “Could you please stop talking for a second?” or “Please, can you just shut up for a minute?”
You can also tell your friend to be quiet by saying, “Please, would you be quiet for a second?” If your friend is being annoying or very loud, you can ask them to be quiet by saying, “Please, could you just be quiet for a second?”
