Memory plays an important role in this story. It is because of the memory of his childhood, Jayanto wanted to visit Bundi. Each actions are pushed forward through remembrance of the past. Memory sets the tone of the story from the beginning to the end. Memory of Fritz puts a fear in Jayanto’s mind and the lost-in-thought mood continues throughout the story.
