  1. Indirect Speech: He asks me whether I am ready.

    Explanation: When the reporting verb is in the present tense (says), the tense of the indirect (reported) speech remains the same.

    However, the pronouns will change.

    And if the sentence is interrogative, we use the reporting verbs – ask, enquire, etc.

    Note: While answering to “yes or no questions”, we use if or whether.
