After arriving in Bundi, the narrator noticed that Jayanto had turned rather quiet. He thought perhaps it was because some of Jayanto’s memories had returned. One can feel a little depressed when visiting a place one has seen as a child. This was what was happening to Jayanto, hence he had been behaving in an erratic manner.
