The title of the short story “Bholi” is quite suggestive and describes the content. Bholi is the main character (protagonist) of this short story and the whole plot is based on her life from a stammering girl with no confidence or beautiful face to a well-educated and confident girl.
Moreover the word “Bholi” is a Hindi word which means innocent and timid. In this story, Bholi is called “dumb cow” as she hesitates to talk because of her bad stammering. So “Bholi” is story about an innocent and timid girl.
