A Girl Called Golden is a poem that honours Betty Cuthbert. She was a superb sprinter who took home three gold medals from the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne and another from the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo. Running was Betty Cuthbert’s lifelong hobby. She persevered throughout her career and won the Olympic gold medal.
