    Besides criticising the habit of forgetfulness, he has also defended the idea of forgetting as a blessing in disguise because people are often distressed and dissatisfied in their lives on remembering any sort of defeat, betrayal, or failure etc. Nobody can cure the inner trauma faced by depressed people.
