Crossing the bar is a poem written by Alfred Tennyson in 1830. The main theme in “Crossing the Bar” is the acceptance of death. Death is an inevitable transition. We are born, live, and die, and this life is but a small part of the universe’s great cycle. Our birth and death are but the beginning and end of a long, long journey. In the poem “Crossing the bar”, the speaker is on a voyage to the other world. He believes that he is going to his eternal home which is a reunion with his creator.

Life is a journey. We have been given a life and we have been given a destination. We cannot change the destination but we can change the way that we approach our life’s journey. There are a lot of people out there who do not know how to accept what has already happened to them. These people think that they can change their future by changing the past. However, it is true that the past cannot be changed but you can change your attitude towards the present. This is one of the reasons why I wrote this article.
In the poem ‘Life’, Charlotte Brontë said that she would not lose hope. She is also saying that she will not give up on her dreams and aspirations even though life has dealt them a blow. Why should we not lose hope? It is because we have to believe that there is something better out there for us. We have to continue to keep pushing forward. The truth is that life can sometimes be hard but we cannot let go of our faith in what we want to accomplish. If we do not have hope, then we will never get what we want. Hope is an essential part of life.
