Chair is the right answer. A chair has four legs but it cannot walk.
‘Table’ works, too, with one proviso. Our four-legged, steel-framed lab-benches were very strong, very, very heavy. These took three or four big, strong people to shift, or just skinny me. Push side-ways, kick a table-leg: If you had the knack, the table would then ‘walk’ like a led horse…
