Shylock in The Merchant of Venice is showcased as a religious jew moneylender as when in act 1 Bassanio went to shylock for money, Bassanio offered him to talk over dinner but shylock rejected the offer then and there said that he would make deal with him and do business with him but won’t pray, eat or drink with him.one of the reason shylock is so protective towards his religion is that he has faced a lot of discrimination for he is a jew that now was seeking revenge against the Christians
