Indirect Speech: You asked me what I wanted.
Indirect Speech: You ask me what I want.
Explanation: When the reporting verb is in the present tense (says) or in the future tense (will say), the tense in the indirect (reported) speech remains the same.
However, the pronouns will change.
And if the sentence is interrogative, we use the reporting verbs – ask, enquire, etc.
