The title of the poem Fire and Ice is quite suggestive, apt and deep. It describes the crux of the poem. Fire and Ice are two extremes and opposite of each other. The poet believes that both of them have the capability to destroy the world.
However they also symbolise greed and hate respectively. Both these evils are equally dangerous for humanity as they lead to the path of destruction.
