To bring his friend back to normalcy, Shankar suggested to dig up the old spot below the deodar tree where Jayanto had buried his doll, Fritz. Shankar wanted to show Jayanto that what he was imagining with Fritz being back was all in his head as it was nothing but just a damaged doll. If a doll had been buried somewhere thirty years ago and if Jayanto knew the exact spot, it might be possible to dig up the ground. Even though most of the evidence would have destroyed, things made out of metal like the buckle of a belt or brass buttons on a jacket could be found there. If Jayanto was shown that that was all that was left of his precious doll, he might be able to get rid of his weird notion of Fritz walking up and down his chest.
