Fritz is the name of the doll Jayanto’s uncle which had bought for him from Switzerland. It was not the usual kind of doll little girls play with. It was a twelve-inch-long figure of an old man, dressed in traditional Swiss style. For Jayanto, Fritz was not just a doll but his best companion. They were inseparable.
Fritz plays an important role in the story. He is the titular figure. The story revolves around the doll and the strange incidents that occur after Jayanto goes back to Bundi years later.
