According to Geral Durrell, the zoo was only for entertainment sake and not for the protection of the animals. He believed that the zoo must cease to be mere show place of animals and start to contribute something towards the conservation of wildlife. All zoos must be financed properly so that they could provide all the animals their natural habitat as much as possible. Endangered species must be protected at all costs. He knew that animal conservation was seldom in the government’s agenda.
