The poet gives various examples to reveal how we are still slaves. According to him country’s body floats down somewhere on the river i.e. she dying because her people have not enough resources to live life. The old generation is praying to leave the world while the young generation is praying for freedom so that they may be able to do something. Some people are so poor that they cannot arrange food for one time a day. The politicans are still ruling life the British. Godmen are no better than them. They have enslaved Gods and themselves leading free life. Thus the poet questions why we celebrate freedom though we are slaves even 50 years after the independence. 3 Reply Share Share Share on WhatsApp Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on LinkedIn Sorry, you do not have a permission to answer to this question.
