The central idea of the poem “The Frog and The Nightingale” by Vikram Seth is that self-confidence is very important for one to survive and succeed in this world. One can have matchless skills but if he has no self-confidence and belief in himself, he will fail someday.
In addition, the people who are successful never desire any other rival or competitor around them. Once a competitor tries to rise up, they leave no stone unturned to counter them and maintain their position in society. Hence, to become a successful one should try remaining far from such successful people.
Had the nightingale not listened to the frog and believed in itself, her destiny might have been different.
