Through the colours of the bangles, the poet evokes the images of happiness, joy, prosperity and sadness. Blue or pink bangles denote the joy and stability in the lives of an unmarried woman, red and orange signifies the happiness and prosperity all married women seek in their marriage and purple and golden bangles imply the life of a matured woman who have served her husband and family with diligence and care.
