The laburnum tree described in the poem The Laburnum Tree is unique as it has the nest of goldfinch bird. In that nest reside the young ones of goldfinch. It is autumn season and the tree is dying (its leaves are falling down). However when the bird enters the tree, her young ones start chirping and the tree trembles with thrill. It appears that the tree comes back to life on the entering of the goldfinch tree.
