By the phrase “silence surrounds us”, the father tells how he and his son behave with each other. According to him, both live in the same house, yet they are strangers to each other. They is no communication between the two.
The son is spendthrift. However the father desires to forgive him. But because of communication gap and father’s failure to understand him, nothing happens.
