      1. The first phrase is the one in which the poet’s mother was young and had a sweet face. This was the best phase of her.
      2. The second phase is the one in which poet’s mother is grown up and is seeing her old photograph and laughing. But deep inside, she is missing her youth and is thus sad.
      3. The third phase is the current one in which the poet’s mother is dead and the poet is missing her laugh.
