      This poem has a myriad of poetic devices, some of which are as follows:

      1. Repetition: The poem uses repetition for added emphasis. Each stanza begins with the phrase ‘A player is one’.

       

      1. Alliteration: One example would be ‘strong, sensible mind’.
      2. Enjambment: The poem has a continuation of a sentence over a line break. Examples would be ‘A player is one who doesn’t whine about their play time,/Because a player knows it’s an unacceptable crime’ and ‘A player is one who doesn’t settle for anything less,/Even knowing, that they’re not the best’.
