Following poetic devices have been used in the poem The Shed:

Onomatopoeia: It is a word that is sounds like what it is describing. e.g. “hinges are rusty and creak in the wind”
Personification: it is the attribution of human characteristics to animals and nonliving things. e.g. “spider has been gone from his web”. The word “his” is used for humans but here the poet uses it for spider.
Alliteration: It is the repetition of initial consonant sounds in two or more neighboring words in a phrase or sentence. e.g. “I lie and I listen”, “someone staring”, “Who hides”.
