  1. Literary devices used in the poem are:-

    1) Simile:- is used to compare two things directly using the words “as” and “like.” For example, the poet uses simile when she says “Silver and blue as the mountain mist,/ Some are flushed like the buds that dream.”

    2) Metaphor:- is an indirect comparison between two things with a point of similarity. For example, in the poem the poet says “Rainbow-tinted circles of light.”

    3) Alliteration:- is the repetition of the consonant sound at the beginning of adjacent words. For example, in the poem, “Or, rich with the hue of his heart’s desire.”

    4) Imagery:- is used to evoke symbols of the inner meaning in the poem like the poet evokes the image of the different phases in women’s life through the colour of the bangles worn by them.
